Large healthcare company is seeking to hire a Part Time Medical Biller / Collections Specialist with 2+ years of experience from a doctor’s office, medical group or billing group to bill / collection Medicare, Medicaid and Private Insurance as well as work the denials. Proficiency in billing; including insurance verification/authorizations and denial follow up is required. Computer skills are essential (software used Lytec, MS Word, MS Excel)
Your role:
Review billing already processed for quality assurance
Review billing edits for accuracy and contact branch with questions
Research billing discrepancies and re-bill accordingly
Prepare billing adjustments as needed
Compare paper invoices to electronic invoices for accuracy before submitting
For Medicaid accounts involving overages, contact branch for up-to-date patient status on a monthly basis
For accounts billed electronically, review all outstanding balances for collectability
Work with the collections department to resolve outstanding billing issues
Requirements:
2+ years experience in a medical billing role
Medicaid or Managed Care experience a plus
Medical billing certification
